Welcome to The Amanda Cates Memorial Scholarship Fund

Officer Amanda Cates (DSN 215) started police work in Normandy in the spring of 2002 and immediately displayed a passion for law enforcement in her daily duties. Officer Cates took her job seriously and always gave 100%.

In 2005 she was assigned the School Resource Officer position inside the Normandy School District and it was then that Amanda was able to truly show her skills for helping people and making an impact in the lives of children.

Amanda genuinely loved and cared for the children of Normany Middle School. Amanda not only gave of herself to the students but gave money, clothes, and presents to students in need. Officer Cates gave a new definition of going above and beyond the call of duty.

In August 2006 Amanda was tragically taken away from her family and her extended family of law enforcement brothers and sisters. The Cates family and the Normandy Police Department thank you for the love and support of our new cause, the Memorial Scholarship in her name.

We rely on your donations to support our cause. Please join us at an event or donate now and make a difference.
