In Honor of Amanda's Birthday:

            The Beautiful Soul
               by Carolyn Cates

She was born in the summer month of August this beatiful girl named Amanda Kay
From the start her smile brightened each and every day

She met each day with humor and laughter
Which I still hear all these years after

She wondered what the world had in store for her
Always reaching, trying to achieve more

With a generous heart and a caring soul
Working for your children was her goal

She loved strong and true
Trusting that the man she chose would too

But this man of anger, resentment, and fear
Took the life of Amanda that we held so dear

Now our days are filled with sorrow and tears
For a life cut short by so many years

Her spirit now roams free
In a place that we can't see

But every now and then we feel her Love
By the mere flight of a single dove

We remember her laughter and smile every day
The Beautiful Soul named Amanda Kay

Amanda was a remarkable woman with an incredible spirit.  In her 26 short years, she touched the lives of many.  Her family and the Normandy Police Department started the Foundation to honor her memory and to continue the work that she started.  Please browse our website to learn more about Amanda and the Foundation as well as to find out how to help, contribute, or attend one of our events.  Feel free to contact us for further information.
